Paper Trading Does Not Eliminate Live Trading Risk
Paper trading is a useful tool for testing strategies without risking real funds. However, it has documented limitations that are relevant to any user considering moving from paper to live trading. Paper trading does not include trading fees, which accumulate in live trading and can significantly reduce or eliminate net returns from a strategy that appeared profitable in simulation. Paper trading does not replicate the psychological pressure of real money losses, which frequently causes traders to deviate from their tested strategy in live conditions. Paper trading on 3Commas does not require connecting an exchange account via API.
